Placement of the instrument
Firstly, place a good latitude and longitude instrument on the measuring station, after centring and levelling, install the main body of the rangefinder on the support of the latitude and longitude instrument, lock it with the connector fixing screws, insert the battery into the bottom of the main body and fasten it tightly. Place the reflecting prism at the target point, centre and level it, and make the mirror face the host.


Observation of vertical angle, air temperature and air pressure
Align the centre of the surveyor's plate with the cross-hair of the latitude and longitude instrument and measure the vertical angle α. At the same time, observe and record the readings on the temperature and barometer. The purpose of observing the vertical angle, temperature and barometric pressure is to make tilt correction, temperature correction and barometric pressure correction to the slant distance measured by the rangefinder in order to get the correct horizontal distance.


Preparation for distance measurement
Press the power switch "PWR" to turn on the device, the host will self-test and display the original set values of temperature, air pressure and prism constant, and "good" will be displayed after the self-test is passed.


If you want to correct the original setting value, you can press "TPC" key and input the temperature, air pressure value or prism constant value (generally through the "ENT" key and the numeric key to input one by one). Generally, as long as the same type of reflector is used, the prism constant remains unchanged, while the temperature and air pressure may be different for each observation and need to be reset.


Distance measurement
Adjust the host illumination axis level adjustment handwheel (or latitude and longitude horizontal microscrew) and the host pitch microscrew, so that the rangefinder telescope accurately aim at the centre of the prism. In the display "good" state, precise aiming can also be judged according to the buzzer sound, the stronger the signal the louder the sound, up and down, left and right micromove the rangefinder, so that the buzzer sound is the largest, it will complete the precise aiming, the appearance of "*".


Precise targeting, press the "MSR" key, the host will measure and display the temperature, air pressure and prism constant corrected oblique distance. In the measurement, if the beam is blocked or atmospheric jitter, etc., the measurement will be temporarily interrupted, at this time, "*" disappears, until the light intensity is normal to continue to automatically measure; if the beam is interrupted for 30 seconds, the light intensity must be restored, and then press the "MSR" key to re-measure.


The conversion of oblique distance to level distance is generally carried out on site with the rangefinder by pressing the "V/H" key and then inputting the vertical angle value, and then pressing the "SHV" key to display the horizontal distance. Continuously press the "SHV" key to display the slope distance, level distance and height difference in turn.
