Precautions during the use of gas detectors

① When using a portable gas detector, it should be worn as close as possible to the mouth and nose, such as the front neckline of clothes, coat pockets, etc. It is strictly prohibited to place the alarm in difficult to see areas such as pockets, which may affect the detection value.

② During use, collision should be avoided as much as possible to cause abnormal detection data.

③ Gas detector sensors and other components are precision components. After adjusting the instrument, do not open the cover casually. During use, pay attention to waterproofing and impurities entering to prevent data abnormalities.

④ If there are abnormal situations such as continuous flashing of indicator lights, sudden absence of numerical display on the display screen, obvious gas exceeding the limit area showing no action, and large differences during use, the operation should be immediately stopped. Evacuate to a fresh air area to observe the problem and promptly eliminate it. Otherwise, it is strictly prohibited to continue using.

⑤ In case of various gas detection exceeding the standard, the operation shall comply with national and company regulations:

Gas on-site operation (excluding confined space) concentration and operation time requirements:

When the concentration of CO in the air is 24ppm, it can operate normally;

When the concentration of CO in the air is 40ppm, it can work for 1 hour;

When the concentration of CO in the air is 80ppm, it can work for half an hour;

When the concentration of CO in the air is 160ppm, only 15-20 minutes of operation are allowed, with a 2-hour interval between each operation.

Oxygen operation: The oxygen content in the working area environment shall not be less than 19.5%, and the oxygen content in limited spaces is generally 19.5%~21%. In oxygen rich environments, it shall not exceed 23.5%.

Hydrogen sulfide operation:

When the concentration of hydrogen sulfide is below 40ppm, a filtered gas mask can be worn for operation, and the applicable substance should be marked on the surface of the gas filter tank;

When working in areas with a hydrogen sulfide concentration greater than 40ppm or an unknown concentration or a sulfur dioxide concentration greater than 2ppm, a positive pressure air respirator should be used;

It is strictly prohibited for anyone to enter areas that may contain hydrogen sulfide gas without wearing appropriate protective equipment, and it is prohibited to remove protective equipment in toxic areas.

⑥ If dizziness, tinnitus, dizziness, nausea, etc. occur during the operation, the operation should be immediately stopped and evacuated to a fresh air area (pay attention to the air flow direction and choose an upper air outlet). If the situation is serious, emergency response should be initiated immediately to carry out self rescue and other rescue.
