Precautions for the use of human infrared thermometer

Advantages of infrared thermometry: First, no contact with the object to be measured, in the measurement of body temperature will not cause unnecessary infections; Second, fast, usually less than 1 second measurement time, usually not more than 2 seconds. Therefore, it is very suitable for application in the preventive detection of fever-like diseases.

Usually in the human body temperature of 37 ℃ near, infrared thermal imaging temperature rapid screening device accuracy can reach ± 0.3 ℃, infrared thermometer can reach ± 0.2 ℃.

In terms of measurement accuracy, the infrared ear thermometer has the highest measurement accuracy, followed by the infrared forehead thermometer. However, if the measurement method is not correct, the measurement results will also be inaccurate. For the newly purchased human body infrared thermometer, or frequent use, as well as the results of the measurement of doubt, the human body infrared thermometer should be calibrated to determine the corrected value, it can try to eliminate the systematic error of the thermometer.

Blackbody radiation sources can be used for the calibration of human infrared thermometers. Its effective emissivity, temperature control stability have high requirements. The black body temperature is usually measured using a platinum resistance thermometer or a contact thermometer such as a glass liquid thermometer, and its temperature is compared with the measured value of the infrared body thermometer to obtain the calibration value. The black body of the calibrated infrared ear thermometer also needs to be specially designed in terms of the shape and size of the opening according to the requirements of the thermometer under test.

Special note: It is not recommended to use industrial test infrared thermometers for measuring human body temperature.
Industrial testing with infrared thermometer is usually the lower limit of the measurement range up to -20 ° C ~ -30 ° C, the upper limit from 200 ° C ~ 1000 ° C have, a wider range of measurements, lower accuracy, in the vicinity of the human body temperature is generally not better than ± 1.0 ℃. Therefore, only from the point of view of the requirements of measurement accuracy using industrial testing infrared thermometer to measure the human body temperature is not very suitable.

Tips for use
Calibrated infrared thermometers are provided with calibration temperature points and correction values for practical use.
