Troubleshooting and Technical Exchange of Coating Thickness Gauge

The layer thickness gauge can non-destructively measure the thickness of non-magnetic coatings (such as aluminum, chromium, copper, enamel, rubber, paint, etc.) The thickness of a non-conductive coating (eg enamel, rubber, paint, plastic, etc.) on a substrate (eg copper, aluminum, zinc, tin, etc.). So, what are the common faults of coating thickness gauges? How should we solve it? The following points are summarized for you:

1. The instrument measurement is not accurate

① Please calibrate the instrument systematically first, and calibrate it to make it fit the error range. The error is ≦3% (thickness value). If you need to test more accurately, please perform system calibration on the lubricated bare base (uncoated base) of the workpiece to be tested.

②Please check whether the front end of the probe is worn, deformed, has attached substances, etc., and whether the outer sheath of the probe is out of level, etc. The deformation can be corrected by sanding properly, and it should be cleaned and

③ The influence of the surface roughness of the base material of the tested piece causes systematic errors and accidental errors. During the measurement, increase the number of measurements at different positions to avoid accidental errors. Or sand the base material to recalibrate the zero point of the instrument.

④Measurement method and placement of the probe, keep the probe vertical to the sample during the test

⑤The curvature of the tested piece should be recalibrated under the radius of curvature that the probe complies with. Especially the convex surface of the pipe, pay attention to the stable placement of the V-shaped slot of the probe.

2. The instrument does not turn on

①Please check whether the battery is charged, or replace it with a new one.

the
②Please check whether the battery is in good contact, and the electrode sheet is not oxidized or rusted (if rusted, use a tool to scrape off the oxide layer),

③Please check whether the button can be pressed in place, and the button is normally elastic.

④Other host circuit failures, consult the company for after-sales service or return to the factory for maintenance,

3. There is no data change in the measurement

①Whether the probe is well connected, whether the probe is damaged, etc.

②Related host circuit failure,

4. The instrument cannot measure

①Check whether the probe is well connected, inserted in place,

② Check whether there is a broken part of the probe line, and focus on the probe connector (the connector can be unscrewed to check)

③Frequent and heavy use of the probe, aging or damage of the sensor, burns, etc.

④Other host circuit components are faulty
