Related introduction of oscilloscope two-line oscilloscope

In the process of electronic practical technology, it is often necessary to observe the process of two (or more than two) signals changing with time at the same time. And conduct power tests and comparisons on these different signals. In order to achieve this goal, people use the following two methods of displaying multiple waveforms at the same time based on the application of ordinary oscilloscope principles: one is the two-line (or multi-line) oscilloscope method; the other is the dual trace (or Multiple trace) oscillometric method. The oscilloscopes manufactured using these two methods are called dual-line (or multi-line) oscilloscopes and dual-trace (or multi-trace) oscilloscopes respectively.

A two-wire (or multi-wire) oscilloscope is implemented using a double-gun (or multi-gun) oscilloscope tube. The following is a simple explanation using a double-gun oscilloscope tube as an example. A double-gun oscilloscope has two independent electron guns that produce two beams of electrons. There are also two sets of independent deflection systems, which each control a beam of electrons to move up, down, left and right. The fluorescent screen is shared, so two different electrical signal waveforms can be displayed on the screen at the same time, and dual-line oscilloscopes can also be realized using a single-gun dual-line oscilloscope tube. This type of oscilloscope has only one electron gun, which relies on special electrodes to split electrons into two beams. Then, two sets of independent deflection systems in the tube control the up and down, left and right movements of the two electron beams respectively. The fluorescent screen is shared and can display two different electrical signal waveforms at the same time. Due to the high manufacturing process requirements and high cost of dual-wire oscilloscope tubes, their applications are not very common.
