Oscilloscopes need to be self-calibrated before use and require probe compensation adjustments, which are performed to match the probe to the input channel.


When operating the instrument for the first time and when displaying data from multiple input channels at the same time, it may be necessary to calibrate the data both vertically and horizontally to synchronise time base, amplitude and position. For example, calibration is required when a significant temperature change (> 5°) occurs.

In fact, the oscilloscope is only the process of testing the voltage change over time, mainly in debugging to capture the waveform.
