Standard Maintenance Specifications for Gas Detectors

① Conduct regular inspection, calibration and bump test on the detector.

② Keep operational records of all tests, calibrations and alarm events. ③ Keep the instrument surface dry and clean. Avoid dampness, rain and corrosive gases and liquids.

④ Keep away from dust and maintain a clean surrounding environment.

⑤ Operate within a moderate ambient temperature range; excessively high or low temperature shall be avoided to prevent damage to electronic components.

⑥ Do not knock, violently shake or drop the instrument. Rough handling is prohibited.

⑦ Irritating chemicals, detergents or high-concentration cleaning agents are forbidden. The instrument can be gently wiped with a soft cotton cloth dipped in a small amount of clean water and dried promptly afterwards.

⑧ Wipe the instrument detection port regularly to keep the pipeline unobstructed and prevent liquid ingress. If liquid enters the port, place the instrument downward to let the liquid drain out naturally.

⑨ In case of air leakage in the gas circuit system, check whether the diaphragm of the suction pump and sealing rings are damaged, and inspect the condenser and four-way valve for faults.

⑩ When the combustible gas alarm prompts filter replacement, stop the suction pump and drain water from the filter tank.

⑪ Pay attention to detection interference between different sensors.

⑫ Be aware of the service life of various sensors. The service life of specific electrochemical gas sensors is generally 1 to 2 years; PID detectors can last four years or longer; LEL sensors usually have a service life of about three years; oxygen sensors generally last around one year. Low-temperature storage can properly extend the service life.

⑬ Control the gas flow rate for detection, normally 30 L/h. Significant deviation from this value will affect measurement results.
