Sugar meter analysis instructions

Sugar meter is used to quickly measure the concentration or refractive index of sugar-containing solutions and other non-sugar solutions. Sugar meters are widely used in sugar, food, beverage and other industrial sectors as well as in agricultural production and scientific research. The sugar meter is suitable for measuring the concentration of various sauces (seasonings) such as soy sauce and ketchup. It is suitable for measuring the sugar content of products with high sugar content such as jam, syrup and liquid sugar. It is suitable for measuring the sugar content of fruit juices, refreshing drinks and carbonated drinks. In the production line, quality management, pre-shipment inspection, etc., it is suitable for the process from planting to sales of fruits. The sugar meter can be used to determine the accurate harvesting period and perform sweetness classification. In addition, sugar meters are also widely used in the concentration determination of slurries in the textile industry.

The design principle of sugar meter
When light enters another medium from one medium, refraction occurs, and the ratio of the sine of the incident angle is constant. This ratio is called the refractive index. The soluble solid content in fruit and vegetable juices is directly proportional to the refractive index under certain conditions (same temperature and pressure). Therefore, by measuring the refractive index of fruit and vegetable juices, the concentration (sugar content) of fruit and vegetable juices can be found. Commonly used instruments are handheld refractometers, also known as sugar mirrors and handheld sugar meters. By measuring the soluble solid content (sugar content) of fruits and vegetables, the quality of fruits and vegetables can be understood and the maturity of the fruits can be roughly estimated. A handheld sugar meter is generally cylindrical. Place the sugar solution to be measured into the slot that can be opened at the back, spread it evenly, close the lid, then hold the sugar meter up to the light and look through the hole in the front to read.

1) It has temperature compensation function to make the data more accurate

2) The eyepiece has been upgraded to provide higher clarity and reduce observer fatigue.

Product application of sugar meter:
The refractometer has the advantages of simple structure, shockproof, easy operation and portability, clear vision, and low price. Sugar series are used in canned food, juice manufacturing, brewing and fermentation, beverages, fruits, honey harvesting and other fields. Salt series are used in marine culture, aquariums, physiological saline preparation and other fields. Medical series are used in the detection of serum protein and urine specific gravity. Industrial series are used in the detection of automobile battery fluid, refrigerant fluid, cleaning fluid, and detection of machine tool lubricating fluid and cutting fluid.

product structure:
①, refractive prism ②, cover plate ③, calibration bolt ④, optical system pipeline ⑤, eyepiece (diopter adjustment ring)

Instructions:
1) Align the refractive prism ① in the direction of light and adjust the eyepiece diopter ring ⑤ until the reticle is clear;

2) Adjust the basis:
Before measurement, first make the standard solution (purified water), instrument and liquid to be measured based on the same temperature. Open the cover, then put 1~2 drops of standard liquid on the refractive prism, and gently press the cover with your hand.

②Draw a dividing line between light and dark. Rotate calibration bolt

③ Make the dividing line between light and dark in the eyepiece field coincide with the reference line (0%);

3) Open the cover ②, wipe the surface of the prism with a soft flannel cloth, put 1~2 drops of the solution to be measured on the refractive prism, cover the cover ② and press it gently to read the relative scale of the light and dark dividing line, which is The content of the liquid being measured;

4) After the measurement is completed, directly wipe off the attachments on the prism surface and cover with a damp flannel, and store them properly after drying.

Precautions and maintenance:
1) After use, it is strictly forbidden to rinse directly with tap water to avoid water intrusion into the optical system pipeline;

2) During use and maintenance, it should be handled with care and carefully maintained. The surface of optical parts should not be bumped or scratched;

3) This instrument should be stored in a dry, dust-free, and non-corrosive gas environment to avoid mold on the surface of the optical parts.
