The common types and principles of thermocouple thermometer
Thermocouple thermometer is the most widely used thermometer in contact temperature measurement, and is a temperature measurement tool widely used in industrial production.
Thermocouple thermometers have the advantages of simple construction, durability, high accuracy, and small size.
The principle of thermocouple thermometer: thermoelectric effect, also known as Seebeck effect.
By welding two different materials of metal conductors together to form a closed circuit, as long as the temperature at the two nodes is different, an electromotive force (thermoelectric potential) will be generated in this circuit, and when the two contacts are at different temperatures, an electromotive force (thermoelectric potential) will be generated in this circuit.
Because the electromotive force is directly proportional to the temperature difference between the two contacts, the temperature of the hot junction can be calculated by referring to the thermocouple scale or using a calibration equation.
Common types of thermocouple thermometers:
K-type thermocouple: Nickel chromium nickel silicon thermocouple, with a temperature range of -200~1300 ℃. It has the advantages of good linearity, large thermoelectric potential, high sensitivity, and low price. It is currently the most widely used low-cost metal thermocouple and the most widely used thermocouple thermometer.
T-type thermocouple: Copper constantan thermocouple or copper/nickel copper thermocouple, with a temperature range of -200~350 ℃. It has good linearity, high thermoelectric potential, and high sensitivity, making it a commonly used low-cost metal thermocouple for low-temperature measurement.
S-type thermocouple: Platinum rhodium 10 platinum thermocouple, a precious metal thermocouple, with a temperature range of 0~1600 ℃. It has the highest accuracy and stability in the thermocouple series, and is very reliable in high-temperature measurements.
The thermocouple thermometer has a wide measurement range, fast response speed, and diverse types, and is widely used in industrial production, thermal power generation, environmental monitoring, and other fields.
