The eight major features of the Photoionization Detector (PID) gas detector

① Continuous and sensitive measurement: The PID can detect the presence of organic substances at concentrations as low as ppm (parts per million). This has great advantages for modern petrochemical engineering, labor hygiene, environmental monitoring, etc.

② Fast response: The response time of the PID is generally less than 3 seconds (s), which is suitable for rapid emergency needs.

③ Portable measurement: The portable gas detector is small in size and light in weight, and can be carried to any location where detection is required. The powerful suction pump can draw in gases from locations that are difficult for personnel to reach.

④ There is no need for dangerous carrier gases such as hydrogen, making it reliable.

⑤ Wide adaptability: This includes two aspects. Firstly, it can detect the vast majority of organic substances. Secondly, it has a wide concentration measurement range, from 0.1 ppm to 5000 ppm, and the instrument can measure with an accuracy of 0.1 ppm.

⑥ Non-destructive measurement: Since the photoionization gas detector only ionizes organic substances, the organic components will recombine after leaving the detector. Therefore, the powerful suction pump of the PID can be used for sampling bag operations, allowing for further analysis of the measured samples.

⑦ No poisoning: Unlike most other detectors or sensors, the PID detector will not be damaged (poisoned) by high concentrations of the substances being measured. Its recovery time is the same as its response time, only 3 seconds, so it can measure the real-time concentration at any time.

⑧ Only reacts to organic substances: The photoionization gas detector does not react to common gases such as oxygen, carbon monoxide, chlorine, methane, etc. Therefore, it has a certain directivity in complex environments, that is, it only reacts to organic compounds.
