The mechanical multimeter has two manual knobs and two battery compartments. How to use and operate

Two battery compartments, the first one is filled with 1.5V No.2 dry cell. The second one is for measuring high resistance, 9v laminated battery. If you don't use R×10k, you don't need to install it.

It is also very simple to use, select the function with the knob on the left, such as the resistance range (Ω) indicated by the knob on the left in the above figure, then the multimeter is now in the state of testing resistance, and the knob on the right can adjust the range. 10Ω, 100Ω, 1000Ω(1k), 10000Ω(10kΩ) can be selected. The knob in the middle of the bottom is the resistance zeroing knob, which is used for calibration. Short the test leads before testing the resistance. If the pointer index does not return to zero, is too high or too low, then you need to manually adjust the knob to make the resistance return to zero. If it almost fails to return to zero after adjustment, the battery is probably dead. Just change one section.

It has two function switching knobs. It can cooperate with each other to realize multiple functions such as measuring resistance, AC voltage and DC voltage. When using a certain measurement function, it is necessary to turn the position marked on the knob to the corresponding arrow position, and select the appropriate gear on the other knob. You can use the test pen to measure. What you see in the picture is the ohm range for measuring larger resistance values: the left knob ohm icon is aligned with the arrow above, and the right knob selects the Rx10K range. At this time, the test leads should be inserted into the two holes on the lower right, the red pen is inserted into the ten jack, and the black pen is inserted into the rice jack. The value to be read depends on the value at the vertical intersection of the top line on the dial and the pointer, and then multiplied by the multiple marked by the gear position, it is the resistance value of the resistor or component under the test conditions of the multimeter. If you want to measure other functions, you need to turn the left and right knobs to the matching positions. Remember not to turn the wrong gear: either the measurement is inaccurate (for example, the DC voltage is turned to the AC voltage gear, and the reading doubles), or it cannot work. Even damage the multimeter (it is common to use the ohm file to measure the voltage, and burn out the resistance and other components in the meter). For other precautions, please refer to the instruction manual or search online.

As for the batteries in the battery compartment, two should be installed in the 500 meter: one is a cylindrical battery of 1.5V, which is used for the resistance range Rx1 to Rx1K. When the hands of the Rx1 gear cannot be reset to zero, the battery should be replaced with a new one. The other is the 9V stacked battery 6F22, which is specially used for Rx10K gear after it is connected in series with the cylindrical battery. Also, if the gear cannot be reset to zero, it should be replaced.

The Model 500 has a solid structure and high precision. It is the instrument preferred by most amateur radio operators and professionals. The test data sheets of many ICs or other components are marked with words such as "measured with a 500-type meter", which shows that it is widely used and authoritative. deserves to be loved. Therefore, in addition to the use precautions indicated in the manual, I think the following points should be paid attention to: 1. When using, you must develop the habit of seeing the gear position and function before using it, so as to avoid losses caused by wrong use (such as using Resistance file \ current file to measure voltage). 2. After using it, put the gear in the "·" gear or the highest voltage gear, so as to prevent people who don't understand from picking it up and poking it around (typically measuring the mains electricity and measuring the battery). 3. When going out to carry and the road is bumpy, set the two knobs to the DC current position and the 50 microampere position respectively, and use the small resistance of the meter head to damp the impact of vibration.
