The positioned pH meter measures the unknown liquid to be measured. It is best to calibrate it with a standard buffer solution close to its pH in advance. The measured value will be more accurate. Notes on the instrument
1. The input end of the instrument (including the glass electrode socket and plug) must be kept dry and clean.
2. New glass pH electrodes or electrodes stored long-term dry should be soaked in pH soaking solution for 24 hours before use. When the pH electrode is deactivated, the sensitive part of the electrode is immersed in the pH soaking solution. This is very beneficial to improve the unresponsiveness of the electrode and prolong the life of the electrode.
3. The correct preparation method of pH soaking solution: take the pH4.00 buffer (250mL) packet, dissolve it in 250mL pure water, add 56 grams of analytical pure KCl, heat properly, and stir until it is completely dissolved.
4. When using a composite electrode, the solution must exceed the ceramic hole in the electrode head. If the electrode head is stained, it can be wiped with medical cotton.
5. When using the glass pH electrode and calomel electrode, it is necessary to pay attention to whether there are air bubbles between the inner electrode and the bulb and near the ceramic core in the reference electrode, if necessary, remove them.
6. When calibrating with a standard solution, first ensure the accuracy of the standard buffer solution, otherwise it will cause serious measurement errors. The standard solution can be prepared by yourself, but it is better to use the standard buffer solution delivered by the country.
