The reason why the solder wire of the soldering iron does not stick
Electric soldering irons are mainly composed of a handle, power cord, heating element, soldering iron tip, and mica sheet (some precision ones also have various temperature control circuits). According to their heating methods, they can be divided into two categories: internal heating electric soldering irons and external heating electric soldering irons, which correspond to different usage scenarios. The reason why it is called an internal heating soldering iron is because the tip of the internal heating soldering iron is hollow, and its heating core is located in the hollow inside of the tip, so it is called an internal heating soldering iron.
1. The electric soldering iron has been used for a long time, and the internal heating element has aged or been damaged, causing the heat to not reach the melting point of the solder, resulting in the soldering iron tip not sticking to the solder.
2. During daily use, if the soldering iron tip is not tinned after use, it may oxidize with air at high temperatures.
3. After using the soldering iron, the power was not cut off in a timely manner. The soldering iron is in a high temperature state for a long time, which oxidizes with air, resulting in non stick soldering.
4. For the sake of convenience in daily welding, acidic soldering flux is used, which oxidizes the soldering iron tip at high temperatures.
5. The problem with the soldering iron tip itself is that some soldering iron tips made of poor materials are used, such as some soldering iron tips that are directly made of iron, which are prone to oxidation.
How to solve the problem of non stick soldering of soldering iron tips
1. Prepare high-quality solder, rosin, and high-temperature sponge. Connect the electric soldering iron to the power source, wait for its temperature to rise, insert the soldering iron tip into the rosin, and shake it back and forth. Then take out the prepared solder and melt it by touching the soldering iron tip.
2. If the soldering iron tip has already oxidized and turned black, you can prepare a file (if you don't have a file, you can also prepare sandpaper) to polish the soldering iron tip with a file or sandpaper, and remove the black oxide layer on the surface of the soldering iron tip.

3. The soldering iron tip is usually made of copper metal, which forms black copper oxide (CuO) on the surface after oxidation. Copper oxide is non stick to soldering and can be treated by inserting the soldering iron tip into a 90% alcohol solution. It should be noted that the unheated state should be put in, then powered on, and removed after 1-2 minutes to solve the problem of oxidation and non stick soldering.
