The relationship between magnification and length of microscope eyepiece objective

(1) The longer the eyepiece, the smaller the magnification, and vice versa, the larger the magnification.

(2) The longer the objective lens, the greater the magnification, and the closer the distance to the film; otherwise, the smaller the magnification, the farther the distance from the film.

(3) The upper end of the objective lens has a thread, but the eyepiece does not.

The eyepiece is a visual optical device used to observe the image formed by the front optical system. It is an integral part of visual optical instruments such as telescopes and microscopes. Its main function is to amplify the real image obtained by the objective lens. In order to eliminate aberrations, eyepieces are usually composed of several lenses, which have a larger field of view and viewing angle magnification.

The objective lens is a lens group composed of several lenses. The purpose of combined use is to overcome the imaging defects of a single lens and improve the optical quality of the objective lens

Extended information

(1) The essence of magnification: magnification refers to the length or width of the magnification, not the area or volume.

(2) Calculation of magnification: The magnification of the microscope is equal to the product of the magnification of the eyepiece and the magnification of the objective.

(3) After switching to a high magnification objective lens, the coarse focus screw can no longer be rotated, and only the fine focus screw can be used to adjust.

(4) After switching to a high-power objective lens, if the field of view is too dark, first adjust the shutter (change to a larger aperture) or reflector (use a concave reflector) to make the field of view bright, and then adjust the fine focus screw.

(5) When observing dark-colored materials, the field of vision should be appropriately brightened, otherwise, it should be appropriately dimmed.
