The role of switching power supply transformer and classification
Before we introduce the switching power supply transformer, we must first understand the concept of power transformer. Because the former is actually a switching tube device added on top of the power transformer, its original use role has not changed. But this new type of transformer has a function that is very different from the general transformer. Generally in the circuit, this type of transformer not only has the actual function of ordinary transformer transforming voltage, but also has the function of insulation isolation and corresponding power transmission. This type of transformer is generally used in various types of high-frequency circuits above the switching power supply. So what is the specific role of this product? Its classification and how? Let me introduce to you.
For the transformer, in fact, is a device that can convert the voltage. Generally we will also call it power transformer. But the switching power transformer is different from other transformers, it is more than the ordinary transformer with a switching tube. This creates a self-excited intermittent oscillator, and its function is to be able to adjust the input DC voltage into a high-frequency pulse voltage and then output.
In addition to the above, this product has a more important role, that is, the transfer and conversion of energy. Generally in the flyback circuit, we put the switching tube for conduction, the corresponding transformer will be converted into a magnetic field and storage processing. When we turn the switch off, the magnetic field is converted to electrical energy.
How does this work in a forward circuit? Firstly, when the switch is switched on, the input voltage is supplied directly to the load and the energy is stored in the inductor. Once we disconnect the switching tube, the power is transferred to the load through the storage inductor.
Finally, the switching power supply transformer also converts the DC voltage that is transferred in, so that it can output low voltage of various sizes. Its role we have finished, then its classification and what is it?
Generally speaking, switching power supply transformers can have two different categories, they are single-excitation type and double-excitation type. The structure of these two categories is different, and their working principle is also very different. Single-excitation type can input unipolar pulse, and can also output forward and reverse excitation voltage; double-excitation type is different from its input bipolar pulse, the vast majority of the output bipolar pulse voltage.
Through the above text, many friends have a certain understanding of the transformer. For the switching power supply transformer, not just the difference between adding a power switch, some of his applications appear more extensive. In addition for some specific applications, power transformers with this device can be in accordance with the needs of the voltage conversion, to achieve the effect of meeting the needs of multiple types of voltage in the industrial sector.
