The shape and characteristics of the soldering iron tip

The soldering iron tip is an ancillary product for the electric soldering iron and the soldering station. It is a consumable item in the welding tool. Often the soldering iron tip, soldering iron tip and soldering tip we call are actually the same thing. Each electric soldering iron manufacturer determines the soldering tip according to the soldering iron tip. Features: It is equipped with different types of soldering iron tips (soldering tips, soldering tips), but the basic shapes are pointed, horseshoe-shaped, flat-tip-shaped, knife-edge-shaped, etc., and each has its own characteristics in use. The heads of each type of soldering iron tip (soldering tip, soldering tip) are basically the same. The difference lies in the size of the body part of the soldering tip (soldering tip, soldering tip) so that it can be matched with your own electric soldering iron and soldering station. Generally, the soldering iron tips (soldering tips and soldering tips) of different brands of electric soldering irons and soldering stations also have different shapes. The basic tip classification characteristics are as follows:

Type I soldering iron tip (fine tip).
Scope of application: Suitable for fine welding or when the welding space is small. It can also correct tin bridges produced when welding chips.

Features of type B soldering iron tip (conical shape): Type B soldering iron tip has no directionality, and the entire front end of the soldering iron tip can be welded.
Scope of application: Suitable for general soldering, regardless of size of solder joints, B-type soldering iron tips can also be used

Features of D-type soldering iron head (slot-shaped nozzle): use the nozzle part for welding. Scope of application: Suitable for welding that requires a large amount of tin, such as a welding environment with a large welding area, thick terminals, and large soldering pads.

Features of C-type soldering iron head (beveled cylindrical shape): Use the beveled part of the front end of the soldering iron head for welding, suitable for welding that requires a large amount of tin. Application range: The application range of C-type soldering iron tip is similar to that of D-type soldering iron tip, such as large welding area, thick terminals and large soldering pads.

0.5C, 1C, 1.5CF and other soldering iron tips are very fine, suitable for soldering small components, or correcting tin bridges, tin pillars, etc. generated during surface soldering. If only a small amount of solder is needed for welding, it is more suitable to use a CF type soldering iron tip with tin plating only on the bevel. 2C and 3C type soldering iron tips are suitable for soldering components such as resistors and diodes. SOP and QFP with larger tooth pitch can also be used. 4C, suitable for thick terminals and grounding on circuit boards. Welding situations that require large amounts of heat, such as power supply parts.

K-type soldering iron tip (knife edge shape)
Features: The blade-shaped part is used for welding, and it can be used for vertical or pull-welding welding. It is a multi-purpose soldering iron head.

Application scope: Suitable for SOJ, PLCC, SOP, QFP, power supply, grounding components, correction tin bridge, connectors, etc. welding.

Ordinary externally heated electric soldering irons (30W, 40W, 60W...) are generally cheap and can be used with any 30W, 40W, 60W... soldering iron tips (soldering tip, soldering tip) on the market. use.
