The technical points of the multimeter to distinguish the zero line and the live line

Regarding the method of distinguishing the neutral wire and the live wire at home, in addition to using a low-voltage electric pen, it is also possible to use a multimeter to distinguish the neutral wire and the live wire. The answer is yes. Check it out.

Use a multimeter to distinguish between the neutral wire and the live wire

Methods as below:

1. Use the AC voltage range of the multimeter, and turn the range switch of the multimeter to the AC voltage range of 250V or 500V.

2. The black test lead is connected to the indoor plumber's wet ground, soil, etc., and the red test lead is in contact with the power cord or power socket hole.

3. The higher voltage value indicated on the multimeter is the live wire, and the lower voltage value or zero is the neutral wire.

The above is the method for the multimeter to distinguish between the zero line and the live line. I hope it will be helpful to everyone.
