There are usually two ways to hold a soldering iron: the pen-holding method and the fist-holding method.
(1) How to hold the pen. Suitable for lightweight soldering irons such as 30W internal heating type. Its soldering iron head is straight, and the head end is filed into a bevel or cone shape, which is suitable for soldering pads with a small area.
(2), fisting method. It is suitable for high-power soldering irons. We generally do not use high-power soldering irons in electronic production (not introduced here).
Several methods of soldering leads on a printed circuit board.
Printed circuit boards are divided into two types: single-sided and double-sided. The through holes on it are generally non-metallized, but in order to make the welding of components on the circuit board more solid and reliable, most of the through holes in printed circuit boards of electronic products are now metalized. Method of soldering leads to ordinary single board:
(1) Straight through haircut. The lead wire passes directly through the through hole. When welding, an appropriate amount of molten solder is evenly surrounding the tinned lead wire above the pad to form a cone shape. After it cools and solidifies, cut off the excess lead wire. (See the blackboard for specific methods)
(2) Just immerse yourself in it. Only an appropriate length of the lead that passes through the through hole is exposed, and the molten solder buries the lead head inside the solder joint. This kind of solder joint is approximately hemispherical. Although it is beautiful, special attention should be paid to preventing false soldering.
Precautions for using soldering iron (precautions for soldering technology of electric soldering iron)
(1) The newly purchased soldering iron must be dipped in a layer of tin before use (power the soldering iron, and then use a tin bar close to the tip when the soldering iron is heated to a certain level). If the soldering iron has been used for a long time, the tip of the soldering iron must be File it brightly, then turn on electricity to heat it up, and dip the soldering iron tip in a little rosin. When the rosin smokes, apply tin, so that the surface of the soldering iron tip is first plated with a layer of tin.
(2) After the soldering iron has been used for a period of time, tin scale may remain on the head of the soldering iron. We can lightly wipe it with a damp cloth while the soldering iron is heated. If there are pits or oxide blocks, use a fine-grained file to repair them or replace the soldering iron head directly.
(3) The temperature of the electric soldering iron reaches over 250 degrees Celsius after it is powered on. It should be placed on the soldering iron stand when not in use. However, when not used for a long time, the power supply should be cut off to prevent the soldering iron tip from being "burned" (oxidized) by the high temperature. It is necessary to prevent the soldering iron from burning other components, especially the power cord. If the insulation layer is burned by the soldering iron without paying attention, it may easily cause a safety accident.
(4) Do not hit the soldering iron hard to avoid breaking the heating wire or lead inside the soldering iron and causing malfunction.
