To choose a gas detector, it's crucial to understand these four criteria.

Petroleum, chemical, metallurgy, electric power, steel and other industries occasionally have gas leakage incidents, which not only affect the normal production and operation of the enterprise, but also endanger the personal safety of on-site workers, so it is necessary to use gas detectors for real-time detection of gas concentrations value. However, when customers are faced with many types of gas detectors, how to choose products that meet their needs? This article will discuss with you from four points, which must be grasped when choosing a gas detector.

1. Clarify testing needs

When a customer consults a tester manufacturer, the manufacturer's pre-sales personnel will record the customer's needs in detail. Customers need to clarify the type of gas to be detected, what kind of working conditions are used for detection, whether they need a fixed gas detector or a portable gas detector, and what additional functions are needed? First of all, according to different working conditions and environments, the types of gas detectors selected are also different.

Fixed gas detector: It is mostly used in the industrial production process. The so-called fixed type is fixed at a specific detection point to detect specific gas leaks. It is suitable for continuous and stable detection.

Portable gas detector: small in size, easy to carry and easy to operate. Applicable to places that require inspection. The AGH6100 portable gas detector produced by Aiyi Technology Co., Ltd. can realize free gas combination and detect four gases at the same time, which meets the needs of most gas detection.

2. Understand the working environment

Each detector has certain requirements for temperature, humidity, pressure, etc. Generally speaking, the temperature is -20~60°C, the humidity is 0-95%RH, and the pressure is 80-120Kpa. In addition, dust, flow, etc. will also affect the detection results. Therefore, when purchasing a suitable gas detector, it is necessary to have a clear description of the working environment to be tested, so that the manufacturer can provide corresponding solutions based on these parameter data. Aiyi Technology has a complete solution in gas detection, and customized gas detection equipment to meet the needs of different working conditions.

3. Understand the security situation

This is mainly aimed at whether the detector needs explosion-proof certification. Generally speaking, industries such as coal and petroleum have strict requirements on explosion protection, and the explosion-proof equipment itself is required to have explosion-proof certification at the same time. We know that explosive gas hazardous places are divided into Zone 0, Zone 1 and Zone 2 according to the degree of danger.

1. Explosive areas in zone 0: generally exist in coal mining faces or sealed containers, and the existence time of explosive dangerous gases is ≥1000h/year;

2. Explosive areas in Zone 1: Non-excavation faces of coal mines, closed areas of petroleum and petrochemicals (with vents), and the existence time of explosive dangerous gases is 10h/year-1000h/year;

3. Explosive area range in zone 2: non-enclosed area of petroleum and petrochemical industry, basically no dangerous gas (open air), and the existence time of explosive dangerous gas is ≤10h/year.

Fourth, understand the functional requirements

In addition to basic needs, detection of gas concentration, and alarm exceeding the preset alarm value, some users have other functional requirements, such as: signal output, digital signal output, switch output, etc. You may even encounter some uncommon requirements, such as: requiring a network interface, wireless signal, etc. These are specific functional requirements that need to be fully considered in the selection of gas detectors.
