To reset and calibrate an infrared thermometer, follow these steps
How to reset an infrared thermometer
1. The first step is to press and hold the red button in the middle of the button. Note that it takes up to 10 seconds. At this time, the infrared thermometer will automatically restore to factory settings.
2. The next step is to set and calibrate, and then move to the side of the infrared thermometer. At this time, pay attention to the fact that you can see a groove here, as shown in the picture below.
3. Then just push hard to the right side with your hand or screwdriver to open it.
4. After opening it, you can see a temperature selection switch on the battery compartment. The default position is: ℃ (Celsius).
5. Then move the switch to the "℉" position to set the temperature display unit to Fahrenheit ℉.
6. The last step is to close the battery cover. At this time, you can see that the display has switched to the Fahrenheit temperature display, and the calibration is complete.
How to calibrate an infrared thermometer
The infrared thermometer calibration and measurement department provides two types of inspection reports and calibration certificates:
1. Inspection report: The temperature point specified by the infrared thermometer is tested, and the criteria are given according to the product standards, passing or failing.
2. Calibration certificate: It is to detect the specified temperature point of the infrared thermometer and give a comparison value between the standard temperature and the actual reading of your product.
For users, a "calibration certificate" is better. But neither type of certificate can make a product with deviations accurate. To achieve accuracy, especially for infrared thermometers, only the manufacturer can do it, which is professionally called "calibration".
In addition, if it is an online infrared thermometer, it can be "verified" in other ways.
The calibration of infrared thermometer is a cumbersome procedure that requires professionals to perform calibration. It must be calibrated by the measurement department or the product manufacturer.
