Understanding of the use of handheld laser rangefinders in underground mining applications

As a type of rangefinder, handheld laser rangefinder has unique functions and characteristics compared to ordinary rangefinders. We promote and apply it to areas where factories and mining enterprises particularly need it.

The application of handheld laser rangefinder in mines mainly utilizes a combination of handheld laser rangefinder and domestic theodolite to form a prism free half station, which is used for measuring points, cross-sectional height, and mining volume in underground mining areas.

What was the original underground measurement method before a handheld rangefinder was purchased by a certain unit? Let's listen to the person in charge of the measurement unit: they used a theodolite, a leather ruler, a fishing rod, and a domestically produced pulse rangefinder to measure the underground mining area. The main drawbacks of this method are:

1. Low measurement accuracy. There is a set of data to prove it; At the end of 1998, two geological survey groups jointly measured the volume of a mining area, resulting in one group measuring 55000 cubic meters and the other group measuring 68000 cubic meters. Measure one value at a time, and the difference between several measurements is significant, so I dare not continue to measure.
2. Slow speed and low efficiency. The working environment underground cannot be compared to the surface environment at all. Due to limitations such as poor underground conditions, dim lighting, and low safety factors, the measurement speed and efficiency are slow, and often one measurement point takes several times more than usual measurement time.

3. Although domestic pulse handheld rangefinders can also measure distance, due to the use of ultrasonic rangefinders, people cannot see the position of the target point, and the measurement range is too short and the accuracy is low, greatly limiting its range of use.
So, let's take a look at the changes after using a handheld laser rangefinder:
In underground measurement, it is only necessary for the measurement personnel to install a theodolite and a rangefinder, and the target point does not require standing personnel. In a very short time, the measurement task can be completed smoothly, * * *, and relatively accurately, overcoming the shortcomings of slow speed, low efficiency, and poor accuracy in the past. Especially in underground measurement, the advantage of handheld laser rangefinders that can see red laser points is particularly praised by the measurement personnel. In underground measurement, handheld laser rangefinders can also be used separately, which is quite convenient and can store a large amount of measurement data without the need for underground measurement records.
