Usage and purpose of biological microscopes
1. Place the microscope slightly to the left on the table in front of the seat, and the seat should be about 6-7 cm away from the edge of the table.
2. First, check whether the power switch of the microscope is turned off and whether the brightness adjustment switch is set to the minimum.
3. Insert the power plug into the socket, turn on the light source switch, and adjust the light intensity to the appropriate size.
4. Rotate the objective converter so that the low magnification lens is facing the through hole on the stage.
5. Place the sputum smear to be observed on the stage so that the observed part of the slide is located in the center of the light hole.
Use of oil mirrors
Drop a small drop of cedar oil in the center of the sputum smear surface, then replace it with an oil lens, so that the oil lens comes into contact with cedar oil, and observe it through an eyepiece. While observing, use your hand to slightly move the fine focus spiral to see the object clearly, and avoid using the coarse focus spiral. After observing with an oil lens, turn it on and use a lens eraser to wipe off the cedar oil on the lens with xylene. Lower the lens barrel to a low position.
Preparation after use of microscope
After the observation is completed, the lens barrel should be raised first, the condenser lowered, and then the slice should be removed. Then, the converter should be rotated to make the objective lens and the light hole staggered, and cleaning work should be done well. After cleaning, lower the lens tube so that the two objective lenses are located on both sides of the light hole on the stage, forming an external "eight" shape. Rotate the reflector perpendicular to the stage and cover it with a dust cover.
Maintenance methods for microscopes
1. The optical part of the microscope can only be wiped with special lens wiping paper, and cannot be wiped with other objects indiscriminately.
2. Keep the microscope dry and clean to avoid contamination by dust, water, and chemical reagents.
3. A good dust cover should be equipped.
4. When converting the objective lens, do not directly rotate the objective lens with your hands, only rotate the converter.
5. Do not arbitrarily rotate the coarse and fine focus screw. When using a fine focusing screw, use light force, rotate slowly, and do not turn hard when unable to rotate.
6. It is not allowed to disassemble the parts on the microscope at will, and it is strictly prohibited to disassemble the objective lens at will to avoid damaging the converter screw port or causing different focal points when the low and high magnification objective lens is converted due to the loose screw port.
7. When using a high-power objective, do not use a coarse focusing screw to adjust the focal length to avoid excessive movement and damage to the objective and glass slide.
8. After use, it is necessary to check whether there is water or reagent on the objective lens. If there is, it should be wiped clean, and the stage should be wiped clean. Check whether there are stains on the lens tube and arm, and then cover them with a dust cover.
