Welding process and precautions of electric soldering iron
Before welding, we should first check whether all welding tools are ready, such as whether the tools are complete and whether the electric soldering iron head can work.
Before using a new soldering iron, the soldering iron head should be polished with fine gauze paper to remove the surface isolation layer. The used soldering iron should be checked for deformation, etc. If the soldering iron head is bent or contaminated with other foreign objects that affect welding, a file or pliers can be used to correct and polish the bent soldering iron head; If the soldering iron head has oxidized and turned black after a long time of use, it is necessary to gently file off the surface oxide layer with a small file, and use it only after it exposes the bright copper.
When officially starting welding, first connect the electric soldering iron to the power supply. When the temperature of the soldering iron head rises to the point where it can melt tin, apply the soldering iron head to the rosin, and wait for the rosin to smoke before applying a layer of soldering tin to make the soldering iron head evenly coated with a layer of tin. This can facilitate welding and prevent surface oxidation of the soldering iron head. Repeat this process two to three times, so that all the edges of the soldering iron head are coated with a layer of tin before use.
Heat the wire with electricity, dip it in rosin, and then use a soldering iron tip to contact the solder wire. Due to the proportion of lead in the solder wire composition, it is well known that lead is a harmful heavy metal to the human body. Therefore, gloves should be worn during operation or hands should be washed after operation to avoid ingestion.
Electric soldering irons should not be powered on for a long time without use, as this can easily accelerate the oxidation of the soldering iron core and burn it off, shorten its lifespan, and also cause the soldering iron head to oxidize due to prolonged heating, even being "burned" and no longer "eating tin".
After using an electric soldering iron, it must be securely placed on the soldering iron frame and be careful not to touch the soldering iron head with wires and other debris to avoid scalding the wires and causing accidents such as electric leakage.
