What are the benefits of using a two-color thermometer in the billet steel strip hot rolling industry?
In the hot rolling process, the steel billet is heated in a heating furnace so that it can be softened and then rolled. If the metal temperature is too low, it will be too hard to produce surface cracks in the subsequent rolling process, and it will also damage the rolling equipment. And if the metal temperature is too high, surface cracks, melting or blemishes will appear during the rolling process. If the metal is not heated evenly, the steel will deform irregularly, resulting in lower product quality and possible scrap. When measuring the temperature of the steel billet with the monochromatic infrared thermometer, there are influences such as oxide skin and water vapor, among which the emissivity of the oxide skin is high, and the emissivity of the steel billet is low.
Advantages of using a two-color thermometer:
(1) No influence of emissivity caused by oxide skin.
(2) Two-color temperature measurement technology eliminates most of the influence of water vapor.
(3) Slight contamination of the thermometer lens does not affect the temperature measurement.
