What are the specifications for installing ammonia gas detectors?
I believe everyone knows that ammonia is harmful to the human body. Ammonia can burn the skin, eyes, and mucous membranes of respiratory organs. If inhaled too much, it can cause lung swelling and even death. To avoid this situation, it is necessary to use an ammonia gas detector. Ammonia gas detector is an electronic instrument used to detect the concentration of ammonia gas in the environment, which can be carried around. When the concentration of ammonia in the environment reaches or exceeds the preset alarm value, the ammonia detector will emit sound, light, and vibration alarm signals. However, before using an ammonia detector, the first step is to install it. What are the installation specifications for ammonia detectors? Below, the editor of Yiyuntian will introduce it to you.
1、 Installation distance
The gas leakage source is located in the equipment area arranged in the open or semi open air. The distance between the ammonia detector and the release source should comply with the following regulations: when the detection point is located on the windward side of the minimum frequency wind direction of the release source, the distance between the ammonia detector and the release source should not be greater than 2m. When the detection point is located on the downwind side of the minimum frequency wind direction of the leakage source, the distance between the ammonia detector and the release source should be less than 1m. The ammonia release source is located in a closed or semi closed factory building, and the distance between the ammonia detector and the release source should not be greater than 1m.
2、 Installation height
Ammonia gas detector is lighter than air, and the installation height of the ammonia gas detector should be 0.5-2m higher than the release source. It should be installed in a place without impact, vibration, and strong electromagnetic interference, with a clearance of no less than 0.3m around. The installation and wiring of the ammonia gas detector shall be in accordance with the requirements specified by the manufacturer, and shall comply with the relevant regulations for the installation and wiring of explosion-proof instruments.
3、 Connection cable usage specifications:
If 4-20mA output signal or RS485 output signal are used, then split wire or bus system connection is adopted, and the cable specifications used should correspond to the corresponding signal cable shielding wire.
The above installation specifications for ammonia detectors are shared here. Ammonia detectors are widely used in various types of cold storage rooms, laboratories with ammonia presence, ammonia storage warehouses, and other industrial places where ammonia is stored. They can effectively prevent poisoning and explosion accidents, and ensure the safety of life and property.
