What are the usage differences between oil and conventional lenses?

The difference in usage between oil lenses and ordinary objective lenses.

When using the oil mirror, a drop of tar needs to be dropped on the glass slide, and the objective lens cannot detach from the oil drop during the upward process. Moreover, the magnification of the oil mirror is larger than that of a regular objective lens.

When using oil mirrors, attention should be paid to:
1. After using the oil lens, first wipe off the cedar oil on the lens and specimen with a small amount of xylene on the lens wiping paper, and then wipe it clean with dry lens wiping paper. After adding tar, the field of view becomes noticeably darker. It is necessary to raise the collector to the highest position and turn the aperture to the maximum. Before using an oil mirror, it is necessary to first place the target observed through a low magnification lens and a high magnification lens in the center of the field of view.

2. Xiangbai oil is a specialized oil for oil mirrors. Dropping a liquid with a refractive index of 1.5 under a 100x oil mirror can significantly increase the resolution of the mirror and improve the observation effect of the microscope. Xiangbai oil has a refractive index of 1.52, making it an excellent oil for microscope oil mirrors.

3. When using a microscope oil mirror, the microscope must be upright on the table, and the arm of the mirror must not be bent to tilt the stage, in order to avoid the overflow of tar, affecting observation, and contaminating the table.

How to clean the microscope eyepiece
1. Use ear wash balls to blow away dust

2. Dip a long fiber cotton swab with pure alcohol (100%). Long fibers are used to prevent short cotton fibers from being left on the protective filter of microscope lenses or digital cameras. The purpose of 100% pure alcohol is to avoid leaving water marks after wiping.

3. Throw away excess liquid (to avoid too much liquid remaining on the surface of the lens).

4. With the center of the lens as the center, push the dirt towards the edge of the lens in the same circular direction.

5. If any dirty spots are found that cannot be removed, please contact the engineer. The engineer will take measures according to the situation to avoid loss of coating.

Many customers have reported that when using a microscope, wiping the eyepiece and objective lens with a mixture of wiping paper, alcohol, and ether does not produce satisfactory results, as there is always dust on top that cannot be wiped off. The correct method is to wrap the wooden strip with lens wiping paper, dip it in a mixed solution (a mixture of alcohol and ether), start from the middle of the lens, and spiral outwards. The paper can only be used once each time and cannot be reused,
