What can be done to prolong the life of the laser rangefinder?
When we use the laser rangefinder for a long time, if we want to have a long service life, its maintenance and precautions must be paid attention to. Only by doing the following points can our instruments be used for a longer period of time and in the best condition.
Laser range finder maintenance
1: Frequently check the appearance of the instrument and remove the dust, grease, mildew, etc. on the surface in time.
2: Use a soft dry cloth to clean the eyepiece, objective lens or laser emission window. It is strictly forbidden to scratch with hard objects, so as not to damage the optical performance.
3: This machine is a high-precision instrument integrating light, machinery and electricity. It should be handled with care during use. It is strictly forbidden to squeeze or drop from a high place to avoid damage to the instrument.

Precautions for Laser Range Finder
As the handheld laser rangefinder uses lasers for distance measurement, and the pulsed laser beam is a monochromatic light source with very concentrated energy, do not look directly at the launch port or observe the reflective surface with an aiming telescope when using it. So as not to hurt people's eyes.
If you measure according to the safety operation specifications in the instrument manual, and when measuring in the field, do not point the instrument launch port directly at the sun to avoid burning out the photosensitive element of the instrument. The life of its rangefinder can be extended by at least one to two years.
What is the principle of using infrared ranging or laser ranging?
The principle of ranging can basically be attributed to measuring the time required for light to go back and forth to the target, and then calculate the distance D through the speed of light c = 299792458m/s and the atmospheric refraction coefficient n. Because it is difficult to measure time directly, it is usually to measure the phase of continuous wave, which is called phase measuring range finder. Of course, there are also pulse type range finders, typically WILD’s DI-3000. It should be noted that phase measurement does not measure the phase of infrared or laser, but the phase of the signal modulated on infrared or laser. The construction industry has a handheld distance meter for house surveying that works on the same principle.
