What factors need to be considered when using the sound level meter?
Sound level meters are used in many places, such as workshop noise measurement, noise measurement around schools, factory noise measurement and so on. Then, whether the use of the sound level meter is correct can directly affect the accuracy of the measurement results.
Before using a sound level meter to measure noise, you need to pay attention to the following points:
1. Please read the instruction manual carefully first to understand the use method and precautions of the sound level meter.
2. When installing the battery or external power supply, be sure to pay attention to the positive and negative poles of the battery, and do not connect them wrongly. If the sound level meter is not used for a long time, the battery should be removed to avoid damage to the sound level meter due to battery leakage.
3. The microphone should be prevented from being thrown and cannot be disassembled. Please put it in a dry environment when not in use.
4. The sound level meter should not be placed in places with humidity, sewage, high temperature, dust and chemical gas, so as not to damage the sound level meter.
5. It is strictly forbidden to disassemble the sound level meter by yourself. If the sound level meter is not working properly, please contact the supplier to solve it.
Measurement method of sound level meter:
When measuring noise, the sound level meter should select the correct gear according to the measured environmental noise. Hold both sides of the sound level meter flat with both hands so that the microphone points to the sound source to be measured. You can also use an extension cable or extension rod to reduce the sound level. The appearance of the meter and the influence of the human body on the noise measurement.
Sensitivity Calibration
In order to ensure the accuracy of the measurement, the sound level meter must be calibrated before and after use.
How to calibrate it? That is, the sound level calibrator is matched with the microphone, the calibration power is turned on, the value is read, and the sensitivity potentiometer of the sound level meter is adjusted to complete the calibration.
