What Illuminators Are Available for the Microscope Tool Series?
Besides manual models, the measuring microscope series supports the new motorized universal illuminator series. White LED illuminators are used for brightfield observation. Users can select either a 12V–50W halogen lamp or a white LED light source according to observation purposes and workpieces.
Below is a brief introduction to the types and functions of these microscope illuminators.
① LV-U EP1 Universal Episcopic Illuminator This universal episcopic illuminator supports brightfield, darkfield, simple polarized light and DIC observation. When switching from brightfield to darkfield observation, the illuminator automatically opens the field diaphragm and aperture diaphragm. When switching back to brightfield mode, it restores the previous field and aperture settings automatically.
② LV-U EP2 Universal Episcopic Illuminator In addition to brightfield, darkfield, simple polarized light and DIC, this illuminator enables epifluorescence observation. It automatically optimizes lighting conditions via linkages coupled with the light stop, field diaphragm and aperture diaphragm. This function greatly simplifies the operation of the measuring microscope, allowing users to focus on specimen observation.
③ LV-U EP12A Motorized Episcopic Illuminator The lighting turret, aperture diaphragm and lighting voltage control of the LV-U EP12A are all motorized to achieve optimal conditions for image capture. The aperture diaphragm is automatically optimized by a linkage between the objective lens and the observation path. Lighting parameters can be adjusted freely according to observation objectives and workpieces. When mounted on an LM-series measuring microscope, the illuminator can be controlled either from the microscope operation panel or a connected PC. With lighting and AF controllers, the microscope can also be controlled remotely from an external PC.
④ LV-U EP1 FA Universal Episcopic Illuminator with Auxiliary Focusing This universal episcopic illuminator is equipped with an optional beam-splitter prism auxiliary focusing mechanism to deliver better accuracy for Z-axis measurement.
⑤ LV-EP1 LED White LED Illuminator The LV-EP1 LED is a lightweight, compact white LED illuminator designed exclusively for brightfield
observation. Its white LED maintains a constant color temperature to avoid adverse effects on measurement. It can be externally controlled via an installed power controller or lighting AF controller.
