Before using the gas detector, the following checks need to be carried out
1. Appearance and power inspection: Before use, carefully check the appearance of the gas detector to see if it is intact and undamaged. The detector should be turned on to check if it can self check normally before entering the detection interface. Observe whether the detector's power can meet the working needs. If the battery is low, it should be charged immediately and it is prohibited to bring it into the work site.
2. Environmental inspection: Before use, the nameplate of the gas detector should be checked to clarify the type and range of gas to be detected, temperature range, explosion-proof area, etc. Different gas detectors have specific usage ranges. Working in environments beyond the usage range will cause damage to the gas detector, and in severe cases, it may lose its detection function. For example, if a combustible gas LEL detector is accidentally used in an environment exceeding 100% LEL, it may completely burn the sensor. The use of toxic gas detectors at high concentrations for extended periods of time can also cause damage to the sensors
3. Alarm test: After the gas detector is turned on normally, the corresponding gas cylinder should be used for ventilation test to check whether the gas detector sensor response is sensitive and whether the alarm function is complete. If the detector does not respond after the ventilation test, it should be repaired immediately.
