What is a combined optical microscope?

A microscope is an instrument that is composed of lenses with different functions and the mechanical body of the microscope. It can produce a magnified object image of the object under observation for easy observation. It is usually used to observe tiny objects that cannot be directly seen by the eyes. Objects and their microstructure. Generally speaking, microscopes can be divided into optical microscopes and electron microscopes based on different light sources and lens systems. Simply speaking, an optical microscope uses light as a light source, and after focusing through an optical (glass) lens, the object forms an image for observation. There are simple microscopes and compound microscopes. Electron microscopes use electron beams with extremely short wavelengths as light sources and are focused by electromagnetic lenses to image extremely small objects. Currently, scanning electron microscopes and transmission electron microscopes are commonly used.

Light microscopy, generally referred to as LM. According to the complexity of the imaging process and structure of optical microscopes, they can be divided into two categories: simple and compound microscopes.

1. Simple microscope
A simple microscope is composed of one or a group of positive lenses (plano-convex or biconvex lenses). This type of microscope has a short focal length. When observing, the eye must be very close to the lens, and the lens must also be very close to the object. The object image produced by a simple microscope is easily distorted and distorted, so the magnification is below 20 times. The commonly used magnifying glass is a type of microscope.

2. Compound microscope
A compound microscope is composed of two or two sets of lenses and the mechanical body of the compound microscope. It is an instrument used in general laboratories for people to observe biological specimens. It is also the microscope in our impression. This kind of microscope has two sets of lenses. One set is a lens close to the specimen to be observed, which is called the objective lens or simply called the objective lens. The other set is close to the eyes for observation, which is called the eyepiece or simply the eyepiece. Compound microscopes can be divided into stereoscopic (anatomy) microscopes and ordinary optical microscopes due to different functions and purposes.

a. Stereo (anatomy) microscope
Stereomicroscopes are mainly used to observe the external form of opaque objects or biological specimens, or are used in industrial lines and some biomedical technologies. Due to the influence of light source, depth of field and other imaging factors, this type of microscope has a magnification of less than 60 times and has better resolution.
