What is an adjustable regulated power supply

Simply put, the output voltage is adjustable, and after being adjusted to an output value, the output is stable when the input power and voltage fluctuations are not too large.

Generally, there are several types of adjustable regulated power supplies that can convert AC to DC, and the classification of DC to DC is also different according to different types. At present, the output voltage of many switching power supplies is also adjustable, but the adjustable range is not large, and there are many specially made test power supplies on the market, and various DC-DC adjustable regulated power supply modules are more flexible, and the adjustable range is general. There are more 1.25-30v. According to the relationship between the input voltage and the output voltage, it can be divided into step-down, step-up, step-up and step-down adjustable regulated power supplies. Only the buck-boost adjustable power supply, the output voltage can be adjusted arbitrarily within the output range, and there is no pressure difference limit with the input voltage, and the others need a certain voltage difference to work stably for a long time. hope this helps!

How to repair the 30v5a adjustable DC regulated power supply
The first step is to disassemble it to see if the AC voltage output is normal or not to determine which half of the fault is in the front and rear, and then carefully search for half of the fault to minimize the scope, and finally determine whether the components are damaged.

What is the working principle of adjustable DC regulated power supply
After the alternating current is rectified and filtered by diodes, it passes through large and medium power triodes, and the high and medium power triodes conduct and output power supply through resistance. Some designs connect a resistor in series to power the Zener diode before voltage stabilization, so that there is a stable voltage difference between the two poles of the diode, and some designs are after the triode output. This stable voltage is called the reference voltage.

Then use a triode or integrated block as a comparator, (+ output) one end is connected to the reference voltage, and the other end (b) is connected to the middle adjustable part of the adjustable resistor with a current limiting resistor in series, and the other two legs of the adjustable resistor are connected to the two poles of the output voltage . There is also a pole connected to the b pole of the large and medium power triode, which controls and adjusts the conduction of the triode. The voltage can be adjusted by adjusting the adjustable resistor.

Simply put, the principle is that the output voltage is compared with the reference voltage by the comparison tube (integrated block) to control the conduction current and voltage of the large and medium power transistors to achieve the purpose of voltage stabilization. The output voltage can be adjusted by adjusting the comparison voltage of the comparison tube (manifold).
