What is the basis for choosing a clamp meter

Key considerations when choosing a clamp meter

Clamp meter is another name for the clamp ammeter. An electromagnetic ammeter and a feed-through current transformer make up the majority of its functioning portion. It is known as a clamp ammeter because the core of a core-through current transformer is made to resemble a clamp and can be moved. It is a portable device that can measure the circuit's AC current without cutting the circuit off. It is widely used and very practical for electrical maintenance.

Selection criteria for clamp meters:

Object 1: detection

Select the model based on the various detecting items, such as leakage current, DC current, or AC current;

2: Requirements for detectable conductors

There are many specifications ranging from 21mm diameter to 53mm diameter to match the testing site.

3. Do we really need true value detection?

The non-sinusoidal motor and transformer circuits cannot be accurately detected by a clamp ammeter operating in average value mode. The genuine effective value mode clamp ammeter should be used to find this circuit.

4: Additional features

A model that incorporates the detection function and record output in addition to being able to detect the current.
