How to use the clamp meter safely
(1) Prior to measurement, mechanical zero correction is necessary.
(2) Choose the proper range, choosing the wide range first, then the tiny range, or use the nameplate value as a guide.
(3) The measurement is equal to the stated value multiplied by the range divided by the number of turns twisted around the measured wire in the center of the jaw when the minimum range is employed to measure and the reading is not meaningful.
(4) The changeover switch needs to be set to the maximum range when the measurement is finished.
(5) To minimize inaccuracies, the jaws should be closed tightly and the wire being measured should be at the center of the openings.
Safety measures for clamp meters
(1) The voltage of the line being tested needs to be lower than the clamp meter's rated voltage.
(2) Put on insulating gloves, insulating shoes, and stand on an insulating pad when gauging the current of a high-voltage wire.
(3) The jaws should be shut firmly, and the power should not be turned off while the range is being altered.
