What is the difference between pump suction type and diffusion type in gas detectors

Gas detectors are common gas detection instruments. Due to the different factors that may exist in the detection environment, the correct type of detection method needs to be used when using the instrument. In normal use, gas detectors can be used in two ways: diffusion and pump suction. Below, we will introduce the differences.

Differences between pump suction gas detectors and diffusion gas detectors

1. Sampling method:

The pump type gas detector usually uses an air pump for sampling, while the diffusion type gas detector allows air to enter the instrument freely during sampling.

2. Detection speed:

The diffusion type gas detector is affected by the air flow rate during the sampling process, so its detection efficiency is slower than that of the pump type gas detector, which has a very fast detection speed.

3. Application occasions:

The main application field of diffusion type gas detectors is in open environments, such as in unclosed workplaces, while the application of pump suction type gas detectors is relatively special, such as narrow tunnels, pipelines, sewers, tanks, sealed containers, and other places that require gas detection, The pump suction gas detector can be equipped with external accessories for remote sampling and detection according to user requirements during use.

4. Cost of use:

When using a diffusion type gas detector, both the manufacturing and maintenance costs are much lower than those of a pump type gas detector.
