What is the magnification of an electron microscope

The magnification of the microscope refers to the product of the magnification of the eyepiece and the objective lens, which magnifies the length or width of the object image. If the magnification of the eyepiece is 10 times and the magnification of the objective lens is 40 times, the magnification of the microscope is ═10×40═400 times.

There are two concepts of total magnification, one is optical magnification, and the other is digital magnification (digital magnification is only involved when imaging equipment is connected).

1. Optical magnification refers to the magnification of the object we observe from the microscope eyepiece. The calculation method of optical magnification is relatively simple, that is, objective lens multiple * eyepiece multiple.

For example: in the calculation of the magnification of a stereo microscope, the objective lens of a continuous zoom stereo microscope is usually 0.7-4.5 times. In the case of a 10-times eyepiece, the total magnification of this microscope is 7-45 times.

The calculations of biological microscopes and metallographic microscopes are simpler. The general objective lens configuration is 4 times, 10 times, 40 times, 100 times, the conventional eyepiece configuration is 10 times, and there are also 16 times, 20 times, etc. The total magnification can be obtained by multiplying it with the multiple of the objective lens respectively.

Digital magnification refers to the magnification of the image displayed on the image after the external device is connected. At present, there are more trinocular microscopes on the market, which are connected to computers, monitors or TVs through CCD equipment for imaging observation, so as to reduce eye fatigue. It is also easy to share with others.
