1. Portable gas detector for measuring area
For portable gas detectors, due to their relatively small detection range and strong maneuverability, it is difficult to accurately determine their measurement area.
But generally speaking, under ideal conditions, the area covered by each test may be around 20 to 40 square meters.
2. Fixed gas detector measures area
For fixed gas detectors, the measurement area mainly depends on the installation position, gas characteristics, environmental conditions, and the performance of the detector.
In a well ventilated warehouse with a height of about 5 meters, a fixed detector installed on the ceiling is used to detect gases lighter than air, such as methane. Assuming its effective measurement radius is 5 meters, its measurement area is approximately 80 square meters (π× 8 ²).
If it is in a workshop with poor ventilation, narrow space, and obstacles, a fixed detector for detecting gases heavier than air (such as sulfur dioxide) may have an effective measurement radius of only 3.5 meters and a measurement area of approximately 40 square meters (π× 3 ²).
