What Malfunctions or Issues Can Gas Detectors Encounter?

If the gas detector is not used correctly during use, it may malfunction. Once a malfunction occurs, it may lead to inaccurate measurements and other results. In order to avoid this situation from affecting us, today we will mainly talk about the common faults of gas detectors.

Common problems with gas detectors

1. Improper user operation method:
During the use of the gas detector, if the user installs the instrument near the air conditioning and heating equipment, it may cause cold and warm air to flow through the gas detector, which may cause changes in the platinum wire resistance in the gas detector. Therefore, when using the gas detector, try to stay away from the air conditioning and heating equipment as much as possible to avoid installing it in the wrong position and causing the instrument to malfunction. Attention should also be paid to preventing electromagnetic interference when using gas detectors.

2. The installation process is not standardized:
The gas detector malfunctioned due to non-standard methods used during installation. If the gas detector is not installed correctly near the leaking gas or is installed close to the exhaust fan, the leaked gas cannot fully diffuse to the vicinity of the gas detector, causing the leaked gas to not be detected by the gas detector in a timely manner, and the danger cannot be detected by the combustible gas detector in a timely manner. If the gas detector and wiring port are set in a location that is prone to collision or water ingress, it can easily cause electrical circuits to break or short circuit. When welding instruments, non corrosive flux should be used, otherwise the joint will corrode and detach or increase the line resistance, which will affect the normal structure. After installation, the instrument can be used for debugging to ensure that the gas detector is in normal working condition.

3. Maintenance and upkeep:
If a gas detector is used to measure gas concentration, it must be used correctly in the environment. Due to the presence of various pollutants and dust in the environment, some gas detectors are currently used outdoors for methane detection. If the instrument is not maintained during use, it may result in measurement errors or failure to detect.
