What should be noted when using a gas detector?
Gas detector is a device used to detect the composition and concentration of toxic and harmful gases in space or work environment. It is an indispensable and important equipment in modern production and life, among which gas sensor is the core equipment for detecting gas composition and concentration. For the accuracy and safety of use, we need to regularly calibrate and verify the gas detector.
Many customers have reported that after purchasing a gas detector, it has been unused for a long time. Later, when they take it out for use, they find that the test results are inaccurate, malfunctioning, and other issues. Here, we would like to remind everyone that these phenomena are normal because the core component of a gas detector is the sensor. The lifespan of the sensor starts counting down from the first day it is produced. Even if you do not use the gas detector, you still need to calibrate and inspect it within three months, six months, or one year, or replace the sensor. In addition, all gas detectors use relative measurement methods, so they need to be maintained and calibrated in a timely manner. Only by calibrating according to the manufacturer's requirements can the expected accurate results be obtained. There are places where such verification can be done, such as national metrology institutes, and it can also be sent to the manufacturer's after-sales service department in China. The reports issued by them are different, but they can all make the instrument work normally.
In addition, to ensure the accuracy of the gas detector and extend its service life, we also need to pay attention to the following issues when using the gas detector.
1. It is necessary to use portable gas detectors reasonably and constantly check whether there are any abnormalities in the components. If there are any abnormalities, they should be repaired or replaced in a timely manner to ensure their normal use.
2. The gas detector is an explosion-proof device and must not be used beyond the specified range.
