What should be paid attention to when using the toxic and harmful gas detector

Oct 21, 2022

method/step

The first is that we should pay attention to understand how the detection of various detectors interferes. For most gas detectors, each sensor has a specific detection gas corresponding to it. When we decide which gas sensor to use, we must know more about the interference of other gases on this sensor, which will affect the detection of this gas sensor, in order to ensure the accurate detection of a specific gas by the sensor.

Secondly, be sure to pay attention to the use period of the detector or its lifespan. Each type of gas detector has a different lifespan. In most cases, currently, generally speaking, LEL sensors have a relatively long service life in portable instruments, generally about three years; photoionization detectors have a lifespan of four years or more; electrochemical specific The life of gas sensors is relatively short, generally one to two years; the life of oxygen sensors is the shortest, about one year. The lifetime of an electrochemical sensor depends on the drying up of the electrolyte in it. If these testing instruments are not used for a long time, the detector should be placed in a sealed environment, and the temperature of this sealed environment should be low, so as to prolong the service life of the detector. Stationary instruments have a longer lifespan than portable instruments because of their larger size relative to portable instruments. In normal use, we should always test the testing instrument, and use it within the validity period of the testing instrument as much as possible.

3 Finally, we should pay attention to the concentration measurement range of the detection instrument. The detection range of each toxic and harmful gas detector is different and has its own detection range. Only when the measurement is completed within the detection range specified by the detector can the instrument perform the measurement accurately. If the measurement is performed outside the measurement range for a long time, it may cause damage to the sensor, thereby affecting the measurement results. If you exceed the detection range of the detector, the instrument will send out a signal. When you see this signal, you must immediately turn off the measurement circuit to ensure the safety of the sensor.

4 There are many points that should be paid attention to in the toxic and harmful gas detector, which requires us to read the instruction manual carefully before use, and test according to the correct operation method, so as to ensure that the detection instrument will not be damaged.
