Which is the difference between internal heat and external heat of electric soldering iron

The outer thermoelectric soldering iron uses an electric heating tube on the outside, and the copper electric soldering iron head is heated inside the tube. The inner thermoelectric soldering iron is an electric heating core heated inside the copper soldering iron. The thermal efficiency of the inner thermoelectric soldering iron is higher than that of the outer thermoelectric soldering iron.

The heating element of the internal heating type is inside the copper head, and its thermal efficiency is relatively high. The heating wire of the external heating type is outside the copper head, and the power of the soldering iron is related to the area of the metal to be welded. A low-power soldering iron is suitable for soldering small parts. For example, the power of welding semiconductor devices and integrated circuits is not more than 30W. A high-power soldering iron solders larger pieces.

The larger the metal area, the greater the power of the soldering iron used. The internal heating type heats up quickly, has a large head and short life, and is usually of small capacity; the external heating type heats slowly, has a small head and long life, and can be used for larger capacity, such as: 300W1.

The difference between internal heat and external heat soldering iron:
1. The main difference is in the heating method.

2. The shape of the soldering iron tip they use, the former is a hollow cylinder; the latter is a solid rod.

3. The warm-up time of the former is shorter, but it is slightly affected by the temperature, especially the low-power type; relatively, the warm-up time of the latter is slightly longer.

4. The leakage of the former is slightly smaller than that of the latter.

First, we can’t absolutely say which one is better, it depends on what your application is: welding small parts, such as electronic components, is good for internal heat; welding large parts, external heat is easy to use.

Second, the structure is different: the heating element of the internal heating type is inside the copper head, and its thermal efficiency is relatively high; the heating wire of the external heating type is outside the copper head, and the power of the soldering iron is related to the area of the metal to be welded.

Third, in terms of power: low-power electric soldering irons are generally internally heated, suitable for welding small parts. For example, the power of welding semiconductor devices and integrated circuits is not more than 30W. High-power soldering irons are generally heated externally, and are used for welding larger pieces. The larger the metal area, the greater the power of the soldering iron used.

Fourth, the heating speed is different: the internal heating type heats up quickly, has a large head, and has a short life, and is usually small in capacity; the external heating type heats slowly, has a small head, and has a long life, and can be used for a larger capacity.

I personally think that the internal heating type electric soldering iron is better to use, because the soldering iron tip of the external heating type electric soldering iron on the market is not easy to tin, and it is very inconvenient to solder. In addition, if the soldering thing needs to be placed for leakage and the temperature should not be too high, then use it Temperature-regulated electric soldering iron with leakage protection.
