Why use a clamp ammeter to measure the current when installing the motor
First, measure each phase independently. The approach is the same for measuring the phase voltage directly on the secondary side of the voltage transformer as it is for measuring it directly at the clamp meter's input end. But, you must choose the proper range and insert the test leads. True, its "bayonet," a unique clamp card meter, can only measure AC current. The way a multimeter is used is the same as a regular multimeter as long as you keep the pointer to the right. Unknown voltage levels will progressively decrease from high to low;
Step 2: Measure the voltage by connecting the test leads in parallel. Via its associated multimeter, the clamp meter detects the voltage. The voltage measurement cannot be "clamped" by the clamp meter, and the switch cannot be set to the proper range.
Using a digital clamp meter
1. Prior to measurement, mechanical zero correction is necessary.
2. Choose the proper range selections by choosing the wide range first, then the tiny range, or by viewing the nameplate value estimation.
3. The measured wire can be wound several times, and the number of turns should be based on the number of turns in the center of the jaw, so that the reading is equal to the indicated value range / full deviation number of turns when the minimum measurement range is used to measure and the reading is not obvious.
4. After the measurement is finished, the transfer switch needs to be set to the highest setting.
5. To minimize inaccuracies, the jaws should be tightly closed and the wire to be measured should be in the middle of the device.
Digital Clamp Meter Precautions
1. The voltage of the line being tested must be lower than the clamp meter's rated voltage.
2. Put on insulating gloves, insulating shoes, and an insulating pad before measuring the high-voltage line's current.
3. The range cannot be altered while the power is on, and the jaws should be shut firmly.
