Wiring and measurement method of the multimeter (precautions for the use of the multimeter)
1. The wiring should be correct
The jacks or binding posts on the multi-panel are marked with polarity. When using for DC measurement, be sure not to connect the positive and negative polarities in reverse; when measuring the diode resistance with a multimeter, that is, when judging the diode polarity, it should be noted that the "+" jack is connected to the negative pole of the enclosed battery.
When measuring current, the multimeter should be connected in series with the circuit; when measuring voltage, the multimeter should be connected in parallel with the circuit.
2. The measurement gear should be correct
The measurement gear includes the selection of the measurement object and the selection of 20%.
Before the measurement, the corresponding gear should be selected according to the rough estimation of the measured object and its size.
Since the multimeter has many measurement objects and many ranges, you must pay attention to the adjustment of the gear when using it, otherwise the meter may be seriously damaged.
For example, when measuring voltage, if the measuring gear is placed in the ohm gear or current gear, and when measuring large voltage and current with a low-range gear, the instrument may be damaged.
3. The measurement of resistance shall not be operated with electricity
When measuring resistance, it is not allowed to carry out under the condition of electrification, otherwise it will not only affect the accuracy of the measurement results, but also may burn out the meter.
4. Do not switch the range with power on
The switching of current and voltage ranges should not be carried out under live conditions, especially in the case of large voltage and high current, so as not to burn out the transfer switch.
