How do I find an open circuit with a multimeter?

How can a multimeter determine if the line is open? Use the multimeter beep gear to measure both ends of the line. If the line is intact, the multimeter will beep. If the multimeter does not beep, it means that the line between the two test leads is broken. Note: The power supply must be cut off for open-circuit measurement, and cannot be operated with power on.

If you use a multimeter to find out whether the home line is broken, the two wires are not in the same place, for example, one end is the bedroom socket, the other end is the living room main switch, the distance is far, and the test leads are not so long? The measurement can be performed by extending the wire. No buzzing means that there is an open circuit between the two ends. Find the connection point between them, and narrow the scope to measure step by step.
