This is a great value for such a versatile moisture meter. I previously had one that only worked on wood and gave limited results, so it's nice that this one works on multiple materials and gives you more detailed readings.
I appreciate that this comes with a storage pouch that the manual also fit into, because you are going to need it. When using this meter, you need to tell it what material you are testing so that is uses the proper calibration. Unfortunately the meter just lets you pick from A-G with no indication what those actually are. The manual identifies the modes, but there is no way I'm going to remember between uses without checking the manual.
The meter comes with batteries, but the battery compartment is held closed with a screw. I would have preferred a snap-close compartment to make it easier to remove the batteries when I know I wouldn't be using it for a while.
Lastly, I found that measurements for the same material varied quite a bit. You really need to take a bunch of readings in different spots to get a good average. This meter does have a max/min feature to help figure out where you're at, but with that you're going to get the extremes rather than the average.Still, even with the nitpicks, I like this having this meter in my toolbox.
