The soldering skills and methods of electric soldering iron mainly include the following points:

 

1. Preparation before soldering:
Clean the soldering area, cut off the excess part of the lead of the component and then tin it. If the surface of the component is oxidized and not easy to tin, you can use fine sandpaper or a knife to clean the surface of the lead, and then use the soldering iron tip to dip a proper amount of rosin core solder to tin the lead. ‌Choose a suitable soldering iron tip, such as a knife tip, a bevel tip, a pointed tip, etc., according to the welding needs. ‌

 

2. Temperature control: Set the temperature of the electric soldering iron according to the actual situation. Generally, for direct plug-in electronic materials, set the actual temperature of the soldering iron tip to 330~370 degrees; for surface mount materials (SMC) materials, set it to 300~320 degrees. You can judge whether the temperature is too high by observing the soldering iron tip. When it turns purple, it means that the temperature is set too high. Soldering process: First melt a small amount of solder and rosin on the soldering iron tip, aim the soldering iron tip and solder wire at the solder joint at the same time, and start melting the solder. ‌ During welding, ensure that the lead position does not change. The solder joint should be hemispherical and the height should be slightly smaller than the radius. The surface should be smooth and uniform, without obvious pores or depressions, otherwise it is easy to cause cold soldering or false soldering.

 

3. Inspection after welding: After welding, carefully observe the shape and appearance of the solder joint to ensure the quality of welding. Special material welding: For special materials, such as microphones, buzzers, etc., silver-containing tin wire should be used, and the temperature is generally controlled between 270 and 290 degrees.

 

4. Electric soldering iron maintenance: Regularly maintain the electric soldering iron to ensure its normal operation and extend its service life. In addition, there are some additional tips and precautions:

You can apply an appropriate amount of rosin or flux to the welding part first to help the welding be smoother. ‌
The welding time should not be too long to avoid damaging the components or producing false soldering, nor should it be too short to avoid loose soldering.
