Analysis of Performance Characteristics of DC Operated Power Supply Equipment
Many important data centers are equipped with DC operated power supply devices, which provide the necessary DC power for other devices in the data center to ensure the normal operation of the system. So, the selection of DC operated power supply equipment is a very important step, and it is necessary to have some understanding of it in order to help us choose DC operated power supply equipment well. Below, we will analyze and explore the performance characteristics of DC operated power supply equipment.
1. Allow ambient temperature; Due to the development of technology, various electrical components are tending towards miniaturization and intelligence, but these components have higher requirements for the temperature of the operating environment. When selecting DC operated power supply equipment, we should have an understanding of the allowable ambient temperature of the DC operated power supply equipment. Currently, the allowable ambient temperature of DC operated power supply equipment is generally -5 to+40 ℃.
2. Noise from DC operated power supply equipment; The noise generated by DC operated power supply equipment is multifaceted, but it is mainly caused by the noise generated by the AC charging process. Initially, an electromagnetic saturation reactor was used, which was rectified by diodes to charge the battery. The noise level of this method is relatively high, usually between 55-65dB. If the reactor is not installed properly, the noise will be even greater. Later, with the development of thyristor technology, people began to use thyristors for rectification and filtering to charge batteries, and the noise was further improved, controlled between 55 and 65dB. When workers were operating DC power equipment on-site, there was only a slight sense of noise. With the development of high-tech, people have also designed high-frequency switches. By utilizing high-value switching technology to convert AC power into DC power, the DC operated power supply equipment is developing towards miniaturization, and the noise is fully controlled to only 45dB. The presence of noise is no longer felt on site, creating a comfortable working environment for workers. So, when choosing DC operated power supply equipment, we should try to use high-frequency switch rectification method as much as possible.
3. Ripple voltage; The ripple voltage of the output DC operating power supply should be less than 0.1%.
4. Input AC voltage variation range; The input power supply for DC operated power equipment can be either 380V or 220V. This is mainly determined by the output ampere hour (Ah). But regardless of the input voltage level, it has a fluctuation range, and this voltage fluctuation is mainly caused by the fluctuation of the grid voltage. Therefore, the range of input voltage variation for DC power operation equipment should be within ± 10%. If the range of input voltage variation is small, when the grid voltage fluctuates greatly, it will cause the DC equipment to lose voltage and discharge the battery, which is not conducive to the operation of other equipment. Of course, the fluctuation range of the input voltage cannot be too large, as a too large fluctuation range will increase production costs.
5. Range of DC output voltage variation; Although the output voltage is DC, there are also certain voltage fluctuations. Generally, the output voltage fluctuation should be within the rated output voltage range of less than 5%. If the output voltage fluctuation is large, it will have an impact on other electrical equipment and even damage the equipment.
6. Normative standards; The electromagnetic compatibility of DC operated power supply equipment should comply with the CB6833-87 standard.
