Application Guidelines of Fixed Online Thermometers in Ironworks
We adopt fixed online thermometers to measure the vault temperature of hot blast stoves. The hot blast stove vault is a special operating area. Its temperature measurement needs to address high-temperature and high-pressure conditions of the measured target, as well as adapt to year-round outdoor environmental changes.
Through repeated practice and optimization, Jintai Company has developed a special protective device equipped with a sealed window. In application, the online thermometer fitted with the protective device is fixedly installed at the original thermocouple mounting position on the vault. The probe aims at the interior of the hot blast stove through the sealed window and thermocouple jack to measure the vault temperature. The probe signal is transmitted via cable to the instrument box in the control cabinet for processing, which displays the temperature value and outputs a 4–20 mA standard current signal for recorder or computer processing.
Since the infrared probe of the system has no contact with high-temperature objects, it features stable performance, high reliability and long service life, capable of continuous operation for more than five years. It effectively reduces thermocouple consumption and greatly cuts down equipment operating costs and maintenance workload.
Temperature Measurement Inside Hot Air Ducts in Ironworks
The temperature measuring device of the online temperature measurement system designed by Jintai is basically similar to the vault temperature measurement system. The infrared probe with a protective device is mounted on the original thermocouple jack of the hot air duct. The infrared probe passes through the sealed window of the protective device and the reserved thermocouple jack to target the interior of the hot air duct, so as to measure the internal temperature.
As the temperature probe of this system is installed outside the sealed window, the entire temperature measurement system is completely isolated from the hot air inside the pipeline. Therefore, probe replacement and routine maintenance can be performed without affecting the operating state of the on-board hot air. Traditional thermocouples must be replaced during blast shutdown. As consumable parts, thermocouples are frequently damaged. This temperature measurement system reduces thermocouple consumption and lowers overall operating costs. At present, it has been widely applied in Benxi Steel, Chengde Steel, Laiwu Steel and other enterprises, delivering remarkable economic benefits.
