About sensors
A device or apparatus that can sense (or respond to) a specified measurement and convert it into a usable signal output according to a certain pattern. Sensors typically consist of sensitive components that directly respond to the measured signal, conversion components that generate usable signal outputs, and corresponding electronic circuits.
At present, the accuracy of pressure sensors in China is mostly below 0.25%, and the output form is mainly 4-20mA current.
There are many types of pressure sensors, such as resistance strain gauge pressure sensors, semiconductor strain gauge pressure sensors, piezoresistive pressure sensors, capacitive pressure sensors, piezoelectric pressure sensors, resonant pressure sensors, and fiber optic pressure sensors.
Before leaving the factory, pressure sensors need to undergo strict quality inspection to ensure that they meet various requirements of users and are capable of handling various environments in industrial sites. There are many ways to verify, and here I mainly introduce the use of ESCORT desktop multimeter for quality inspection.
Domestic mainstream pressure sensors require a resolution of 1 μ V for the output voltage after conversion, and the required calibration instrument for this situation is at least a five position instrument. ESCORT-3146A is a 120000 count high-precision five and a half position instrument, and its DC voltage range (120mV with a precision of 0.012%+5) is fully capable of calibrating the sensor in this link; Similarly, for the 4-20mA current signal output by the pressure sensor, the ESCORT-3146A DC current mode (12mA accuracy up to 0.05%) and Auto Range function can easily detect this part. The ESCORT-3146A resistance measurement has an optimal resolution of 1m Ω, which is more than sufficient for correcting the resistance of the strain gauges. The unique dual display function and high/low limit alarm function of ESCORT-3146A bring great convenience to the production process.
