Application of Gas Detector in Different Environments

Recently, the frequent occurrence of dangerous gas accidents in various places has attracted wide attention from all parties, especially the 12.4 major accident of Chongqing Yongchuan Coal Mine, which has once again entered people's vision of "dangerous gas detection". my country has always had strict requirements on the detection of harmful gases in the workplace. However, due to different emphasis on enterprises and different economic conditions, a large number of environmental risks are still uncontrollable.

In order to ensure the personal safety of factory employees and save costs, the company can equip employees with multi-function gas detectors, which can be carried with them for personal gas detection, or placed in areas with gas dangers for regional detection. Through the sound and light alarm that comes with the gas detector, it can automatically alarm and remind in time to ensure the safety of employees.

The principle and classification of gas detector

A gas detector is an instrument that can detect the composition and concentration of various gases in the environment. At present, there are many brands of gas detectors on the market. When choosing a gas detector, our company should make more comparisons and choose a gas detector that suits you. Gas detectors are mainly divided into portable gas detectors and fixed gas detectors. The core technology of gas detectors is sensor technology. According to the different detection technologies of gas sensors, the classification of gas detectors is also different.

In principle, gas sensors can be divided into four categories:

(1) Electric gas sensors, which use the electrical parameters of materials to change with the change of gas concentration, are divided into: resistance type and non-resistance type, resistance type gas sensors mainly include contact combustion type, thermal conductivity type, semiconductor gas sensor (also Known as metal oxide semiconductor gas sensors and organic semiconductor gas sensors), etc., non-resistive gas sensors usually utilize the current or voltage of the material to change with the change of gas content.

(2) Optical gas sensor, which uses the optical properties of gas to detect gas composition and concentration, divided into: infrared absorption type, visible light absorption photometric type, optical interference type, chemiluminescence type, test paper photoelectric photometric type, photoionized type, etc.

(3) Electrochemical gas sensor, which utilizes electrochemical properties.

(4) Polymer gas-sensing materials Gas-sensing sensors are made of polymer gas-sensing materials, and are divided into: polymer resistance type, polymer dielectric type, thick battery type, surface acoustic wave type, quartz oscillator type, etc.

Commonly used gas detectors

Multifunctional gas detector is a kind of gas detector, which is widely used because it can detect multiple gases at the same time.

A multifunctional gas detector, as the name suggests, is an instrument used to detect the content of one or more gases in the environment. The detector uses the natural diffusion method to detect the gas. Using electrochemical and combustion gas sensors, it has excellent sensitivity and excellent repeatability. The multifunctional gas detector can detect four kinds of gases: oxygen, combustible gas, carbon monoxide and hydrogen sulfide. Up to 130,000 pieces of test data can be stored, and historical data can be viewed at any time through the software.

Whether it is a gas detector or a multifunctional gas detector, be sure to pay attention to the items used when using it:

1. Avoid violent impact and extrusion during use;

2. Charging should be done in a safe area, and it is strictly prohibited to charge in a flammable and explosive dangerous area;

3. It should be inspected and repaired by a special person or institution. During maintenance, the models, specifications and parameters of the original circuit components shall not be changed;

4. Please use the special charger provided by the manufacturer when charging;

5. Do not squeeze the display screen with your hands;

6. When the gas concentration is too high, it will adversely affect the electrochemical sensor of the instrument or damage the sensor;

7. When the battery power is too low, the buzzer will make a "di, di" sound and automatically shut down. Please charge it before use.

This gas detector has excellent sensitivity and excellent repeatability. It can be used in petroleum, chemical, environmental protection, metallurgy, oil refining, gas transmission, biochemical medicine, agriculture and other industries. Real-time detection in environments containing toxic gases such as carbon monoxide, hydrogen sulfide and oxygen. In a dangerous environment, safety is no small matter, we must take precautions before it happens. 120% efforts must be made to ensure that there is no harmful gas leakage on site and to achieve safe production.
